What is Splitsville?

powered by GETLEGAL.TV

Splitsville Texas was created as an informational source to help Texans considering family law and divorce related issues. The site seeks to provide information on child custody, divorce, property division, and financial issues. The goal of this site is to provide free general information and community based support on all Texas based family law issues.

We Do Not Advocate Divorce? We do not advocate divorce. We understand that it is a necessary part of life. As of 2003, 43.7% of custodial mothers and 56.2% of custodial fathers were either separated or divorced. And in 2002, 7.8 million Americans paid about $40 billion in child and/or spousal support. The State of Our Unions 2005 report suggests that on average 43% of American children grow up without both biological parents. Divorce is difficult, expensive, and emotionally and physically draining. We would like nothing better than for you to read this site and decide to participate in family counseling. However, we know that sadly this is not an option for many. Therefore, we seek to help you make better, more informed decisions, and to educate you as to the legal process of divorce.

Our Goal?

We want to provide a Texas-focused portal with information, community support, advice, and expert opinions on family law topics supported by articles, podcasts, video, and related Texas Family Law information.

What we are not. Our site is for information only. We do not provide legal advice, or support the opinions of the authors or contributing attorneys. This site is not a substitute for speaking to your own lawyer, accountant, financial professional, counselor, psychologist, or other medical professional.
